Aomori's Tsugaru-Iwaki Skyline climbs Mt Iwaki — the 'Tsugaru Fuji' — via 69 hairpin turns up a 9.3km toll road, one of the most hairpinned roads on earth. Open mid-April to late October. A summit chairlift continues from the 8th station toward the 1,625m peak, with 360-degree views over the Tsugaru plain and the Sea of Japan.
