The Nihonkai Ororon Line runs some 300km up Hokkaido's Sea of Japan coast from Otaru to Wakkanai — famous for arrow-straight roads beside endless dunes, herring-era ports, and the volcanic cone of Rishiri floating offshore. Two easy days of big-sky coastal riding to Japan's northernmost city.
