Satsuma Peninsula — Ibusuki & Kaimondake Loop.
A southern Kyushu day loop circling the perfect cone of "Satsuma Fuji". From Kagoshima, with the active Sakurajima volcano at its back, the road runs down the Satsuma Peninsula past the caldera lake of Ikeda to Mount Kaimon, then around the southern capes to the bonito-fishing port of Makurazaki. Warm, easy coastal riding through a corner of Japan that feels almost subtropical.
