Hiroshima Peace Circuit — Kure, Miyajima & Kintaikyo.

One of Japan's most historically layered day rides. Starting at the A-bomb Dome and Peace Memorial, the route swings east along the Seto coast to Kure's naval heritage, then west to catch the ferry to Miyajima's floating torii gate, before ending at Japan's most graceful wooden bridge in Iwakuni. History, ocean light, and centuries of craftsmanship in a single 165 km loop.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial ParkStart · Begin at the Genbaku Dome — the only structure left standing near the 1945 hypocenter. Allow 90 minutes for the Peace Memorial Museum; it is profound and not to be rushed before the coastal ride east.

Kure Naval Port & Yamato MuseumScenic Point · Japan's most important naval base from Meiji to WWII. The Yamato Museum displays a 1:10 scale model of the battleship Yamato — the largest warship ever built. A decommissioned submarine sits on the quay outside. Allow 1 hour.

Miyajima — Itsukushima ShrineFerry · Ride west to Miyajimaguchi ferry terminal and cross as a foot passenger in 10 minutes — bikes stay on the mainland. The floating torii gate at high tide is Japan's most photographed view. Arrive before 2pm for the best light and fewer crowds.

Kintaikyo Bridge — IwakuniPhoto Spot · Japan's most elegant wooden bridge: five arches of interlocking cypress joinery over the Nishiki River, constructed in 1673 entirely without nails. White egrets wade in the river shallows below. Iwakuni Castle is visible on the forested hill above.

HiroshimaEnd · Return east along the Seto Inland Sea coastal road. The evening light over the bay and its islands from the elevated sections near Kure is particularly beautiful. End back at the Peace Park area.
