Overview

Hakone Loop — Mt Fuji Volcanic Caldera Circuit.

Hakone is Tokyo's closest motorcycle playground — a giant volcanic caldera 80km west of the capital with a tangle of mountain roads, sulphur fields, lake shores, and unobstructed Mt Fuji views. The Hakone Skyline and Ashinoko Skyline run along the caldera rim with views down into the lake on one side and Suruga Bay on the other. Combine with the open-air sulphur vents at Owakudani and the iconic Hakone Shrine torii gate standing in the lake. Best on a clear winter morning (December–February) when Fuji is most reliably visible.

End
MishimaEnd · End in Mishima at the foot of the old Tokaido road. Famous for unagi (eel) — the city's signature dish. Bullet train back to Tokyo if shipping the bike.
