The southern tip of the Boso Peninsula, just two hours from Tokyo, delivers lighthouse history, white sand beaches, and a wildflower coastal road. Cape Nojimazaki's lighthouse (1869), designed by French engineer Léonce Verny, stands at the peninsula's southernmost point. The Boso Flower Line returns north along Tokyo Bay. Best in March–May when 200+ wildflower species carpet the clifftops.

TateyamaStart · Start in Tateyama, two hours from Tokyo by Uchibo Line express. The Pacific coast gateway to the southern Boso tip. Fuel up before heading to the cape.

Cape Nojimazaki LighthousePhoto Spot · Japan's second-oldest Western-style lighthouse, built 1869 by French engineer Léonce Verny. Stands at the southernmost tip of the Boso Peninsula. Small lighthouse museum covers Meiji-era maritime history.

Shirahama BeachScenic Point · Pure white sand and clear Pacific water, close enough to Tokyo that it draws surfers year-round. Swimming is best September–May before jellyfish season. One of Chiba's finest beaches.

Boso Flower LineScenic Point · A 46km coastal road named for the 200+ wildflower species carpeting the clifftops in spring. The west-facing road overlooks Tokyo Bay with light traffic on weekdays. The road's alternating headlands and coves make for an engaging pace.

Mount Nokogiri — Nihonji BuddhaPhoto Spot · Saw-tooth Mountain (329m) whose stone quarries supplied material for Edo Castle. A 31-metre rock-carved Buddha faces Tokyo Bay, surrounded by hundreds of stone Arhats on the cliff face. Ropeway optional; the hiking path is rewarding.

HamakanayaEnd · End on the Tokyo Bay shore beneath Mount Nokogiri. Mount Fuji appears across the water on clear days. Famous for hirame (flounder) sashimi. Ferry to Kurihama (Kanagawa) closes the loop toward Tokyo.
