Another Thomas Bain pass (1877), the Pakhuis climbs out of the rooibos-tea town of Clanwilliam into the wild sandstone of the northern Cederberg. Weathered rock formations, San rock-art country and the poet Leipoldt's grave, before a gravel side road drops to the remote Moravian mission village of Wupperthal.
