Oued Laou Coastal Road — Tetouan to Chefchaouen.

The back way to the Blue City. From Tetouan's UNESCO medina the P4105 corniche hugs the Mediterranean — cliffs dropping straight into clear water — to the fishing village of Oued Laou. From there the road turns inland and climbs the Laou river valley through the Rif foothills to Chefchaouen. Far quieter than the main N2, with sea, gorge and mountain in a single short day.

TetouanStart · Start beneath Tetouan's whitewashed UNESCO medina, the most Andalusian city in Morocco. Fuel up in town, then take the coast road southeast.

Azla CornicheScenic Point · First stretch of the Mediterranean corniche — the road rides a shelf between Rif cliffs and open sea. Several pull-offs for photos; watch for sand drifts after windy nights.

Oued LaouRestaurant · Working fishing village, not a resort. Grilled sardines straight off the boats at the beachfront cafes. Saturday is souk day. Last fuel before the climb inland.

Chefchaouen ApproachScenic Point · The final climb through Rif hill country — terraced slopes and the first glimpse of blue-washed walls on the hillside ahead.

ChefchaouenEnd · End in the Blue City. Park outside the medina walls — the lanes are pedestrian-only. Sunset from the Spanish Mosque above town is the classic finish.
