A 100km Atlantic-coast day ride from Tangier to the whitewashed walled town of Asilah, via the lighthouse at Cap Spartel where Atlantic currents meet the Mediterranean. The route includes the legendary Caves of Hercules — sea caves whose entrance is shaped like the African continent in reverse. Easy paved roads and constant ocean views make this an ideal warm-up day after arriving on the ferry from Spain.
