Two days to one of the world's darkest skies — Hanle (4,250m) in remote southern Ladakh, home of the Indian Astronomical Observatory and India's first Dark Sky Reserve (declared 2022). The Himalayan Chandra Telescope on Mt Saraswati is the second-highest optical telescope on Earth. The Hanle route is one of the most isolated rides in India — over 275km of high desert from Leh with sparse fuel and one of the planet's most extraordinary night skies as the reward. Restricted Area Permit required.
