The peninsula road on Mallorca's northeast tip — hairpins above a 400 m sea cliff with the Mediterranean far below, and a lighthouse at the very end standing guard over the meeting of two bays. The most dramatic short road on the island and one of the finest cape roads in the Mediterranean.

Port de PollençaStart · The elegant resort town at the base of the Formentor peninsula. Fuel is available here — none beyond this point. Depart early to beat the tour buses that are restricted to the road in the afternoon.
Mirador de Mal PasPhoto Spot · The first major viewpoint looking back over the Bay of Pollença — turquoise water, pine-clad hillsides, and the Tramuntana mountains behind. The hairpin immediately above this point is the most photographed on the road.
El Colomer ViewpointScenic Point · The elevated viewpoint above the sheer 400 m sea cliff with Illa del Colomer (Pigeon Island) below — a seabird colony visible in the water. This is the classic Formentor image: a narrow ribbon of road on a cliff edge above an impossibly blue sea.
Platja de FormentorScenic Point · A white-sand beach at the foot of the peninsula accessible by a short descent — the only flat, accessible beach on this stretch. The Hotel Formentor (1929) is visible on the hillside above — the most famous hotel in the Balearics.
Cap de Formentor LighthouseEnd · The lighthouse at the very tip — perched on the cliff edge above where the Bay of Pollença meets the Bay of Alcúdia. Wind, spray, and an extraordinary sense of arrival. The sea below is 50 m deep and perfectly transparent.
