From the walled border town of Hondarribia the GI-3440 climbs to the spine of Jaizkibel, a bracken-covered ridge dotted with Carlist-war towers that drops in cliffs straight to the Atlantic — the decisive climb of the Clásica San Sebastián. It winds down to the hidden harbour mouth of Pasaia before finishing on the shell-shaped bay of La Concha in San Sebastián.
