A three-day traverse of the Kumaon Himalaya in Uttarakhand, from the railhead at Kathgodam through a garland of ridge-top hill stations. The route links the lake town of Nainital, the cantonment quiet of Ranikhet, the cultural bazaar of Almora, Gandhi's beloved Kausani with its 300km peak panorama, the temple confluence at Bageshwar, and finishes on the tea-terraced ridge of Chaukori facing a front-row wall of the Panchachuli and Nanda Devi peaks. Smooth ridge tarmac, endless corners, big mountain views.
