Ponmudi Ghat Road — Thiruvananthapuram to the Golden Peak.
A day climb from Kerala's capital into the Western Ghats via one of South India's tightest ghat roads — 22 numbered hairpin bends corkscrewing up to Ponmudi, the 'Golden Peak', at 1,100m. The route runs through rubber and spice country and the Kallar river valley before tea slopes and mist take over near the summit. Cool, green and best in the post-monsoon months.
