A Kashmiri classic from Dal Lake into the Lidder Valley. Riding south from Srinagar through saffron fields and apple orchards, the road follows the rushing Lidder River up to Pahalgam at 2,200m, the Valley of Shepherds and trailhead of the Amarnath pilgrimage. A short spur climbs to the pristine alpine meadow of Aru, ringed by snow peaks.
