A short but spectacular climb to the Balcón de La Rioja. From the castle village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra the route threads the Sonsierra wine villages of Ábalos and Laguardia, then winds up the Sierra de Cantabria to the Puerto de Herrera, where a natural stone balcony opens onto the entire Rioja plain and the Ebro valley far below.
