Cuesta de Miranda — Villa Unión to Chilecito on Ruta 40.
One of the most spectacular sections of Argentina's mythical Ruta 40. The Cuesta de Miranda is a cornice road that climbs to 2,040m through burnt-red and ochre cliffs between Villa Unión and Chilecito, following the old Inca Road and engineered with more than 300 curves between 1919 and 1928. Fully paved since 2016, with vineyards at both ends and the Nevado de Famatina on the horizon.
