Rif Mountains — Fez to Chefchaouen.
The Rif Mountains route from the imperial city of Fez to the blue-painted hilltop village of Chefchaouen. The road crosses the Middle Atlas and climbs through cedar forests where wild Barbary macaques come to the roadside. Chefchaouen is famous worldwide for its blue-washed medina perched on a hillside below two peaks.
