Tezu to Walong — India's Easternmost Frontier.
An expedition to the eastern edge of India up the wild Lohit river valley. Beyond Tezu the road deteriorates into rough mountain track through Mishmi country to Walong — the easternmost town in mainland India and site of the 1962 battle — then on to the sunrise valley of Dong and the border village of Kibithu on the LAC. Fuel and lodging are scarce; Inner Line Permit and protected-area rules apply.

TezuStart · Lohit district HQ and the last real town. Fuel to the brim, buy provisions and confirm your ILP before heading up the Lohit valley.
HayuliangOvernight · Anjaw subdivision town perched above the Lohit at ~650 m. Guesthouses and a small market — fuel is unreliable beyond here, so top up.
WalongScenic Point · The easternmost town in mainland India. Visit the 1962 Battle of Walong war memorial above the Lohit before pushing to the border.
Dong ValleyPhoto Spot · The point that catches India's first sunrise, at the India-China-Myanmar tri-junction. A short, steep climb from Walong; go at dawn.
KibithuEnd · Border village on the LAC, ~15 km from the frontier at Kaho. The roadhead of India's far east — turn around here.
