A volcanic crossing of Conguillío National Park in the heart of Chile's Araucanía, linking Temuco to the hot-springs town of Curacautín. The route climbs from lake-district farmland into ancient forests of araucaria (monkey-puzzle) trees, skirting lava flows from the twin-peaked Llaima volcano — one of Chile's most active. Gravel sections inside the park; best ridden November to March.

TemucoStart · Start in Temuco, capital of La Araucanía. Fuel up and stock water — services thin out toward the cordillera.
CuncoScenic Point · Lake-district farming town at the foot of the Andes. Last reliable fuel before the park's southern gate.
