Trollstigen ('The Troll Ladder') is Norway's most famous mountain road: 11 hairpin bends climbing a 1:12 gradient cliff face, with the Stigfossen waterfall cascading directly beside the road. The viewpoint at the top looks back down a wall of switchbacks that barely seem real — more painting than road.
