A 19-mile toll road that climbs to the 14,115 ft summit of Pikes Peak through 156 turns. The lower section winds through woodland; the upper section emerges above treeline into a moonscape of granite boulders and permanent snowfields. The summit view extends across the entire Front Range and into Kansas.
