Gulf Coast Highway — Hua Hin to Prachuap Khiri Khan.
A relaxed coastal run south from Hua Hin — Thailand's original royal beach resort — along the Gulf of Thailand to Prachuap Khiri Khan, the provincial capital at Thailand's narrowest point, just 10km from the Myanmar border. The route passes Pranburi's quiet mangrove coast and the limestone karst wetlands of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, where 300 limestone peaks rise from coastal marshes.

The route.
Hua HinStart · Thailand's original royal beach resort. King Rama VII built Klai Kangwon Palace here in 1926. Head south on Route 4. The Gulf is calm and the road is lined with tamarind trees.
Pranburi Forest ParkScenic Point · Casuarina-lined beach with mangrove boardwalks and estuary birds. None of Hua Hin's tourist infrastructure — just fishing boats and morning market stalls. The mangrove walk takes 30 minutes.
Khao Sam Roi Yot National ParkPhoto Spot · "Three Hundred Mountain Peaks" — a coastal karst park where limestone towers rise from wetland and mangrove. Phraya Nakhon Cave contains a royal pavilion illuminated by a natural skylight. The 45-minute walk to the cave is essential. Arrive before 10am to avoid tour groups.
Prachuap Khiri KhanEnd · End at the narrowest point of Thailand. The bay is flanked by twin limestone peaks — Khao Chong Krajok has a mirror-pond temple at the summit. The town's fresh crab and grilled snapper from the harbour are the best on the Gulf. Excellent sunset from the waterfront promenade.
