A compact, characterful day in Himachal's Tirthan and Banjar valleys, climbing the narrow, often broken road to the 3,120 m Jalori Pass. Apple orchards, trout streams and the wooden-chalet village of Jibhi bookend a sharp ascent to a ridge of temples and trailheads. Snowbound December to March.
