The Tourmalet at 2,115 m is the highest road pass in the French Pyrenees and the most-used mountain pass in the Tour de France. The eastern approach from Sainte-Marie-de-Campan is a 17 km climb at an average 7.4% gradient; the western side from Luz-Saint-Sauveur is steeper. Cycling jerseys adorn the summit; motorcyclists are welcomed equally.
