A high skyline drive along the Okayama-Tottori border linking the grassy Hiruzen highlands with the sacred cone of Mount Daisen. The road climbs to the Kimendai rest area at 900m for a 360-degree sweep of Daisen and the three peaks of Hiruzen, then drops past the eroded south wall of Daisen to the 1,300-year-old temple town of Daisen-ji.

Hiruzen Kogen (Maniwa)Start · Dairy-highland resort at the foot of the three peaks of Hiruzen. Fuel and coffee here — there are no petrol stands on the skyline itself.
Hiruzen Three Peaks ViewpointScenic Point · Panorama of Kamihiruzen (1,202m) and its two neighbours rising straight off the pasture. Best light in the morning.
Kagamiganaru HighlandScenic Point · A highland basin cradled between peaks on the Tottori-Okayama border, ringed by beech forest and a quiet campground. The skyline proper begins here.
Kimendai Lookout (900m)Mountain Pass · The high rest area of the skyline. A 360-degree view takes in Daisen's bulk to the north and the three Hiruzen peaks to the south. Small kiosk with local ice cream.

Daisen TownEnd · End below the cone locals call Hoki Fuji. From here it is a short run down to the San-in coast at Yonago.
