Fuji Azami Line — The 22% Hairpin Climb to Subashiri 5th Station.
An out-and-back assault up one of Japan's steepest paved roads — grades reach about 22 percent through relentless switchbacks from the forest to the treeline at 2,000 m. A bucket-list technical climb with Mt Fuji overhead and Hakone views from the top. It is a free prefectural road open to motorcycles; the summit section closes during the summer climbing-season car restriction and in winter, so ride it late April to early July or September to November.
