Mikuni Pass & Panorama-dai — Lake Yamanaka Fuji Skyline.
A short, spectacular Mt Fuji skyline above Lake Yamanaka, the highest of the Fuji Five Lakes. Prefectural Route 730 climbs the east shore to Panorama-dai, a 1,090m lookout that frames the whole of Fuji above the lake — famous for Diamond Fuji in October and February and seas of golden pampas grass in autumn — then crosses Mikuni Pass on the three-prefecture border. The route takes in the spring-fed ponds of Oshino Hakkai and the forested Kagosaka Pass down toward Gotemba. Best year-round; spectacular at dawn.

Lake Yamanaka — HiranoStart · Start on the east shore of Lake Yamanaka at Hirano — at 980m the highest of the Fuji Five Lakes. Prefectural Route 730 climbs south toward the ridge.
Yamanakako Panorama-daiPhoto Spot · A 1,090m lookout framing the whole of Mt Fuji above the lake. Diamond Fuji — the sun cresting the summit — appears here in mid-October and late February; autumn brings seas of silver-gold pampas grass.
