Cape Inubosaki & the Choshi Coast.
An easy coastal spin around Choshi at the easternmost tip of the Kanto plain, where the Tone River meets the Pacific. Ride from one of Japan's busiest fishing ports out to the 1874 Inubosaki Lighthouse — the first place on mainland Honshu to catch the sunrise — and south along the white chalk cliffs of Byobugaura, the Oriental Dover.

Choshi StationStart · The easternmost town of the Kanto plain, at the mouth of the Tone River. Grab breakfast and head for the port.
Choshi Port Fish MarketRestaurant · One of Japan's largest fishing ports by catch. Early-morning tuna and mackerel; a bowl of the day's catch sets up the ride.
Cape Inubosaki LighthousePhoto Spot · A 31m white brick tower from 1874, one of very few in Japan with a first-order Fresnel lens. The cape is the first point on mainland Honshu to see the sunrise each day.
Kimigahama BeachScenic Point · A long open beach curving south from the cape. Good place to stretch and watch the Pacific swell.
Byobugaura CliffsPhoto Spot · Nearly 10km of sheer white chalk cliffs — the Oriental Dover. A rare geology in Japan; the coastal road runs right along the top.
