A rugged gravel traverse of the Barrington Tops plateau linking Gloucester in the coastal hinterland with Scone in the Hunter Valley. The Barrington Tops Forest Road climbs from warm-temperate rainforest to sub-alpine snow-gum woodland above 1,500m — among the highest ground in NSW. Unsealed, corrugated and often wet or snowy on top; a genuine adventure-bike road best tackled in the dry.

GloucesterStart · Start in Gloucester at the foot of the Barringtons. Fuel up — there is nothing on the forest road. Ride it only in dry weather; the plateau turns to mud after rain and holds snow in winter.
Barrington Tops Plateau (Polblue)Mountain Pass · The high point of the forest road at roughly 1,550m, ringed by snow-gum woodland and sub-alpine swamps. Gravel, corrugations and wandering wildlife — ride to your sightlines.
