Motorcycle Routes in Greece

Greece offers an underappreciated motorcycle touring experience with thousands of kilometres of coastal and mountain roads, year-round mild weather, and a riding culture that welcomes two wheels. The Peloponnese peninsula delivers a complete touring circuit — dramatic coastal cliffs, mountain passes, ancient ruins, and traditional villages connected by quiet roads.

The Zagori region in Epirus features some of the most spectacular mountain roads in southern Europe, winding through stone-arch bridges and cliff-hanging villages above the Vikos Gorge. The mainland route from Delphi to Meteora combines ancient history with challenging mountain riding. Island-hopping by ferry adds a unique dimension.

The best season is April through October, with spring being ideal — wildflowers, comfortable temperatures, and minimal tourist crowds. July and August are very hot in the south but perfect for mountain and northern routes. Greek roads range from excellent new motorways to narrow, rough mountain tracks — verify road conditions before committing to remote routes. Fuel stations are frequent on main routes but close early on islands.
